Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL) seeks to employ experienced and qualified professionals in the following positions:

1. Automobile Workshop Engineer (1 Position)

Reporting to the Head of Mining Operations

Job Summary

The successful candidates will be part of the Mining Department, and will be heading the team which is required to manage the Company’s fleet of Heavy Equipment Machinery and Light Vehicles in order to achieve the minimum requirement of 85% equipment availability and enable production and other departments to meet their targets, whilst upholding high safety, maintenance standards, statutory and domestic regulation compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
• At least 8- 10 years post qualifying experience in automobile workshops.
• Experience in a mining company will be an added advantage.
• Must be computer literate.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Basic knowledge of computer such as MS Office and SAP System

2. Auto Electrician (1 position)

Reporting to the Senior Workshop Foreman

Job Summary

The candidate is expected to diagnose, repair, service and install electrical works on light motor vehicles and heavy equipment Machinery.

Required Qualifications:

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Craft or Advanced Certificate Automotive Electricity
• Registered Member of EIZ
• Minimum of Three (3) to Five (5) years Experience

3.  Mechanic- Heavy Equipment (1 Position)

Reporting to the Senior Workshop Foreman

Job Summary

Responsible for Diagnoses, services and repairs of various systems that are found on pieces of light vehicles and heavy equipment machinery such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems and transmissions. Etc whilst upholding high safety, maintenance standards, statutory and domestic regulation compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Diploma/Craft or Advanced Certificate Heavy duty equipment repair.
• Experience in a mining company will be an added advantage
• Registered Member of EIZ
• Minimum of Five (5) years Experience

4.  Foreman Mechanical -HER (1X Position)

Reporting to Workshop Engineer

Job Summary

The job holder will be required to repair and overhauling of rotating equipment, early defect prediction to optimize outage processes of the Coal Handling and Processing Plant to minimize downtime and reduce unplanned maintenance cost and assumes full responsibility for the role as envisaged by safety health environment system.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum three (03) years experience as supervisor in the field of maintenance of Rotating Equipment such as
• Trouble shooting skills in Hydraulic Systems. Exposure to condition monitoring techniques.
• Registered Member of EIZ
• Basic knowledge of computer such as MS Word, Excel and SAP System

5. Mechanical Fitter (1 Position)

Reporting to the Senior Foreman – Mechanical

Job Summary

Responsible for Diagnosis,repair, fitting and maintenance of fabricated pipes, water valve pressure gauge,on water lines, water Pump Station and Coal Handling and Processing Plant and assembling of rotating equipment Components (Pumps,conveyor belts etc) in order to achieve maximum equipment availability.

Required Qualifications

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Craft or Advanced Mechanical Technician Certificate
• Registered Member of EIZ
• Two (2) years Experience
