JOB SUMMARY

Ensure completion of mechanical maintenance jobs paying particular attention to quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to ensure maximum availability of equipment. You are expected to embrace preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitor maintenance activities for efficiency and safety ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements respecting budget policies and deadlines are followed.
2. Coordinate the maintenance of various types of equipment in a safe, professional manner and in accordance with industry standards, environmental restrictions and original equipment manufacturers’ recommendations.
3. Optimize maintenance operations using best available tools and procedures in order to maximise equipment availability.
4. Take adequate actions when mechanical incidents occur.
5. Ensure adequate spare parts are ordered and made available for all types of maintenance.
6. Oversee technical staff in the performance of their duties and provide expertise as required.
7. Enforce accident prevention and occupational health work procedures and regulations.
8. Ensure safe keeping of materials, tools and equipment.
9. Prepare weekly/monthly maintenance reports for the attention of the Managing Director.
10. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director from time to time.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Full grade 12 certificate with credits or better in English and Mathematics.
2. Mechanical Engineering Degree
3. Ten (10) years experience in maintenance in the lime manufacturing or similar industry.
4. A fully paid up member of EIZ
5. Not less than 35 years old.
6. Proven skills of managing people.
7. Valid Silicosis certificate.
