We are looking for a young, ambitious Van Sales Representative for a client in the Retail Distribution industry to maximize the sales of supplier brands to the trade through effective territory planning, selling, merchandising and communication that enables the achievement of company and supplier objectives.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reporting To: Merchandiser Team Leader

Supervision Of: Self

Interacts With: Clients, management, sales team

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Strategize and preplans on how best to achieve sales objectives by understanding company pricing and product programming information on a monthly basis.
  • Analyzes entire customer base by visiting each customer and identifying opportunities; completes all necessary surveys and ensures account compliance where applicable
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the company s priorities and customers’ needs to include selling display ideas, new products and promotions.
  • Understands and works with management on inventory levels by being aware of current inventory and out of stock situations and by alerting management to possible fluctuations in demand.
  • Attains standards of performance goals by achieving the distribution, volume and activity goals of supplier brands as set by management
  • Ensures maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account standards as determined by management and using effective and current point of sale materials when appropriate.
  • At least 1-2 years in a retail distribution set up
  • Diploma in Marketing or related field
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with ability
  • Must be a detail and results-oriented, deadline-driven professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team
  • Familiarity with assigned territory is a plus.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

Experience: 2 years plus

Education Level: Diploma Level

Qualifications: Diploma in marketing, business administration or Business Management or equivalent to work experience

Software: Microsoft Office, familiarity with Excel

Equipment: Job Related

Knowledge Of: Marketing Strategies persuasive, Team Player and knowledge of calculations or mathematics

Skills To: Selling skills, vibrant and creative

Ability To: Understanding, hardworking, self-motivator, work under minimal supervision

Other Requirements: Should have a driver’s license – Manual Transmission
