Project Background

Cheshire Homes Society of Zambia (CHSZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE) is

implementing a financial education project that aims at improving the financial literacy of primary school

going children with disabilities through the creation of financial education clubs in target schools. CHSZ

and MoE have developed a financial education module that guides the clubs’ activities. With a total of six

pillars (chapters) of financial education, illustrative charts are needed for each pillar to engage and

educate the children with disabilities in the clubs hence the need for a professional graphics designer or

illustrator.

Job title: Graphic Designer / illustrator

Job brief:

We are looking for a Graphic Designer/illustrator to create engaging and on-brand graphics for the

Financial Inclusion Project school clubs for primary school going children with disabilities. A total of seven

(07) illustrative charts are to be developed with the consultation of CHSZ.

Role of a Graphic Designer:

The Graphic Designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and

creating graphics including illustrations. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of the Financial

Education module.

Your graphics should capture the attention of children and communicate the right message. For this, you

need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. The goal is to inspire

and attract the children with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Study the Financial Education module and determine requirements

• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements

• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas

• Develop illustrations and other designs using software or by hand

• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic

• Amend designs after feedback

• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Requirements and skills

• Proven graphic designing experience for children

• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

• Familiarity with design software and technologies

• A keen eye for aesthetics and details

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

• Relevant qualification in Design, Fine Arts, illustrations or related field is a plus
