Job Title: IT Intern

Department/Unit: IT – Operations

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Duration: 3 months Internship (90days)

Reports to: IT Systems Manager

Background:

The USAID Zambia Accessible Markets for Health (ZAM-Health) Activity is a five-year project to expand the availability and accessibility of high-quality health products and services in the private sector, improve health knowledge, and increase the adoption of healthy and health-seeking behaviours. The program will employ private sector approaches such as marketing, social franchising, and partnerships with for-profit entities to achieve these outcomes. USAID ZAM-Health is implemented by John Snow Health Zambia (JSH) in partnership with JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), Media 365 and PharmAccess.

Position Description:

The IT Intern will report to the IT Systems Manager.

Duties:

• Provide IT technical support – helpdesk to all ZAM Health staff
• Keep track, update and ensure that the inventory of all IT equipment is up-to-date
• Troubleshooting and repair of computer software and hardware
• Troubleshooting and repair of Local Area Networks
• Troubleshooting, setup and configuration of network printers and scanners
• Perform- other duties as assigned by the IT & Systems Manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Information Systems / Computer Engineering. Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA A+ is an added advantage.
• English speaking and writing skills.
• Ability to take instructions, good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
