Duties
The Tire Fitter is responsible for all aspects of Tire/Rim/Tire chain maintenance in and around the site.
- Changing Tires on all size mine equipment.
- Rim maintenance on all mine equipment.
- Tire chain maintenance including changing chains, tensioning chains and repairing of tyre chains.
- Daily tire pressure checks and inspections on all mining equipment.
- Recording all tire information on tire change outs and tire pressure/inspection checks.
- Carry out administrative functions as identified by Supervisor
- Identify worn and faulty components and report.
- Contribute to good housekeeping routines.
- Understand and adhere to company’s policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Must have Grade 12 Certificate
- Current Certificate tire management course or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years mining tire/rim/chain experience on Mobile mine equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and having driving experience for 12 months.
- Able to read, understand and reference maintenance manuals.
- Experience in Tire management systems.
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (E.I.Z)
2. AIR CONDITIONING TECHNICIANS
Duties
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following
Reporting to the AC Technician Supervisor, He or she will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of all Air Conditioning tasks associated with the specific outlines in the duties and ensuring these are completed in a timely manner.
- Carryout Preventive maintenance on all Aircon systems for earth moving machinery and other supporting equipment but not limited to Bell, Caterpillar.
- Diagnose, service and repair faults.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring problems and re-gassing.
- Clean, test components and conduct regular servicing of equipment.
- Plan, schedule and monitor work of support personnel to assist immediate supervisor.
- Ensure hazardous substances are disposed of appropriately and Health Safety and
- Environment (HSE) requirements are met.
- Maintain a professional work ethic through effective, honest communication with supervisors, peers, and operations personnel always.
- Carry out routine and statutory inspections.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improving of maintenance processes and systems.
- Actively promote full cooperation between the maintenance and mining operation.
Requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
- Craft Certificate in refrigeration and Air Conditioning / Basic Certificate in Electrical.
- Minimum five (5) years mining experience
- Able to read, understand and interpret all electrical schematic drawings.
- Ability to apply appropriate methodical faulty finding and diagnostic techniques to different equipment and controls systems that includes electronics and electric systems.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must have good communication skills in the English language.
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (E.I.Z).
3. BOILERMAKERS
Duties
- Structural fabrication works and welding repairs on all equipment under the Mines Workshop covering earth moving machinery and other support equipment whilst complying with the necessary safety and environmental standards associated with hot metal works
- Structural inspection of equipment and weld repair of the defects identified
- Making sketches and templates for fabrication of items required on equipment or in the workshop etc.
- Grinding finish and painting of fabrication and repair works
- Completion of job cards and other documentation
- Safe handling of all equipment associated with hot works in compliance with safety and environmental standards
Requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Craft Certificate or better in Metal Fabrication and Welding
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a heavy duty fabrication and welding workshop handling surface earthmoving machinery
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (E.I.Z).
4. HYDRAULIC TECHNICIAN
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Diagnose problems using testing equipment
- Perform regular maintenance on hydraulic systems
- Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance
- Order parts and supplies as needed
- Train other technicians and mechanical staff on proper hydraulic system operation and maintenance
- Assist in the design of new hydraulic systems
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
- Respond to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner
- Follow all safety regulations
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and developments in the field
Requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a hydraulic technician
- Working knowledge of hydraulics systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (E.I.Z).
5. ENGINE SPECIALIST
Duties
- Must know the seven steps of trouble shooting
- Must be able to carry out Preventive maintenance (PM) jobs. Eg.. valve lash and Engine service.
- Must be able to diagnose the machines’ Engine problems using diagnostic tools.
- Must be able to carry out troubleshooting and repairs on any type of Engine.
- Must have knowledge on Engine disassembly and Assembly procedures.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Knowledge on service information system (SIS) and Electronic Technician (ET) will be an added advantage.
Requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Craft certificate or Advanced Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair / or equivalent.
- 5 years of work experience as a mechanic working on Heavy Duty Engine overhauls,
- Transmission systems, Fuel systems, braking system overhauls, and air suspensions system.
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (E.I.Z).
- Valid driving license
