Job Description
The Head Risk is responsible for providing support to the
Risk Director in overseeing the development and implementation of enterprise
risk management framework within the Authority and related entities. The
position helps coordinate the development of the Authority’s risk strategies,
policies and procedures, work plans and budget to ensure alignment with and
fulfilment of the overall mandate of the Authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry
out compliance risk analysis to aid in the development of compliance
improvement plans by relevant internal stakeholders.
- Utilise
data analytics to ensure appropriate strategies are identified and
implemented to address any gaps identified in the achievement of the
Authority’s mandate.
- Provide
risk assessment and advice on investment strategies and investment
projects.
- Oversee
the development and implementation of an effective and efficient risk
management framework and internal controls, to satisfy legal and
regulatory requirements, and to minimise exposure to preventable risks.
- Ensure
risk management practice is embedded in the decision-making processes.
- Monitor
the implementation of risk mitigation programs and recommend appropriate
improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the management of
risk.
- Conduct
impact assessments of risk mitigation and compliance improvement
plans
- Provide
technical expertise to user directorates and departments to enhance risk
awareness and proper risk management.
- Identify
emerging risks to provide early warnings to help the Authority identify,
avoid and mitigate risk exposure.
- Provide
inputs into formulation of risk strategy and business development.
- Develop
and implement initiatives to build an appropriate risk culture within the
Authority to ensure it is fully protected from preventable risks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade
12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with credit or better, including
Mathematics and English
- Degree
in Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent
- Master’s
Degree in a Business-related field is an added advantage
- IRM
or GARP Certified
- Credit
Risk Certification is an added advantage.
Minimum Experience Required
- Not
less than ten (7) years of experience in the management of Risk at a
senior management level in a financial / pension industry or other
industries where the profession is practiced and has matured.
