Job description

I. Title: Accounting Senior

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Work Schedule: Full Time

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Accounting Manager

Supervises: Trainee Accountants, Accounting Associates

Coordinates with: Taxation, Corporate Secretarial, and Business Advisory departments

II. Statement of responsibilities

Leading accounting assignments for monthly clients, reviewing files and ensuring complete and adequate work performance, developing staff capacity, team, and individual staff appraisals, managing costs of accounting services, and improving servicedelivery and efficiency ratios.

Key Functions 

• Planning assignments, preparing work-delivery schedules, and assigning staff to jobs
• Overall responsibility for preparing financial statements
• Ensuring accounting working papers and electronic documents are prepared following bestpractices and in compliance with IFRS for SMEs or Zambian GAAP
• Staff training, reviews, and development
• Must have a keen eye for identifying value add services that improve our client’s business
• Enhancing ABACUS360’s brand by consistent excellent service deli

Qualifications

• A degree or accounting diploma; a Grade 12 certificate of 10 points or better in six subjects.

Required

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience preparing financial statements from incomplete records in an accountingpractice, advanced Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot Tables, working knowledge of Zambian tax and expert knowledge ofany accounting software.
