Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is located in the Mazabuka District, 75kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.

The Mine is a modern, world-class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified individual to take up the positions of:

1. Role: Underground Dump Truck Operator (X2)

Reporting: PIC Tramming

Job Purpose:

• Plan, execute mine cycle works of drilling, Support, blasting, loading and hauling.
• To ensure development and production targets are attained in every area.
• Ensures work quality is of high standard to ascertain the safety and well-being of all personnel and assets.

Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring work is done to the given specifications and to the adopted standards.
• Employ SOPs to make long hole drilling works comply to standards.
• Ensure work area check list and inspections are conducted.
• Always be readily available to get instructions for work areas.
• Always be ready to get instructions for new jobs.
• Carrying out dump truck related works with full caution of work are safety for personnel and equipment.
• Determine correct turning angles to avoid damage to the dump truck.
• Turning the machine for scheduled PMs and servicing
• Ensuring communication with line-up supervisor for materials, machines and equipment needs.
• Feedback for proper completion of works before demobilizing.

Skills & Qualifications:

• At least a grade 12 school certificate.
• Professional experience in Operating the mine dump truck.
• Experience in working in underground environment with the mine truck.
• Minimum 4years work experience in operating the mine truck for production tramming and related works.
• Holder of the Zambian Mine Blasting License for all operations.
• Hazard identification and control measures.

2. Role: Plumber

Reporting: Foreman Facilities and Services

Job Purpose: 

•  Ensuring that all plumbing tools and equipment are well secured, in good order and available for use.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring implementation of safety and health policies and practices in line with company requirements and in compliance with legislation.
• Ensuring that all carpentry works are in line with the requirements of the company to meet all OHSE objectives.
• Ensuring that all plumbing tools and equipment are well secured, in good order and available for use.
• Ensure that clarification is done before a task is carried out.
• Ensure maintenance of boreholes and treatment plants is done promptly.
• Ensuring that sufficient planning is undertaken for all lined-up tasks.
• Ensuring that all fixed plant equipment commissioning, facilities, service, maintenance and repairs are executed to the highest acceptable standards.
• Maintain workplace/Workshop at the highest acceptable standard.
• Execute innovative projects timely, with quality and costs within budget.
• Ensuring that all plumbing tools and equipment are well secured in correct places.
• Minimize leakages along borehole lines and all other pipework within the mine site.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Grade 12 certificate
• Craft certificate in Plumbing
• Plumber should be able to know technical work and possess excellent circuit interpretation skills.
• Experience in pipe fitting for both civil and mining industry
• Member of EIZ
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.

3. Role: Assistant Boilermaker

Reporting: Fabrication & Projects Foreman

Job Purpose:

• To design, fabricate, join, and repair equipment, fixtures, and structures by using various welding techniques in compliance with the safety standards.

 Responsibilities:

• Ensuring implementation of safety and health policies and practices in line with company requirements and in compliance with legislation
• Assisting the B/maker to ensure implementation of safety and health policies and practices in line with company requirements and in compliance with legislation.
• Assisting the boiler make to ensure that all Welding and fabrication works are in line with the requirements of the company to meet all OHSE objectives.
• Assisting the Boiler maker to ensure all procedures, processes and systems in use in undertaking fabrication works are in line with company policy direction
• Ensuring that all tools and equipment are well secured, in good order and available for use;
• Ensure that clarification is done before a task is completed;
• Assisting in sufficient planning is undertaken for all lined up tasks;
• Assisting in all Welding, fabrication, maintenance and repair are executed to the highest acceptable standards;
• Assist the B/Maker to Execute projects with innovation timely, quality and costs within budget;
• Ensuring that all tools and equipment are well secured in correct places;
• Assist the B/maker to identify continuous improvement projects
• Maintain and clean workplace/Workshop at the highest acceptable standard;
• Lead and guide others to ensure adequate job is executed according to Standard Job Procedures;
• Apply various competencies to accomplish tasks
• Assist in Completion of checklists and work orders with accurate details of findings
• Assist the B/maker to do proper handovers of equipment to operations are done upon completion of task.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Craft Certificate in Metal Fabrication.
• Trade test certificate in Metal Fabrication
• Possess excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Experience in various welding positions
• Member of EIZ
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
