Tray Assembly Coordinator

Closed ContractPurpose of the role:
To oversee the assembly of mining equipment and machinery, and to coordinate the activities of a team of assembly workers to ensure that the assembly process runs smoothly and efficiently.
Duration: 6 Months
Reports to: Assembly Manager
Branch: Kansanshi
Key Responsibilities:
The Tray Assembly Coordinator will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Supervise and coordinate the assembly of mining machinery – trucks and shovels.
- Ensure that assembly processes are in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Plan and schedule assembly tasks and projects.
- Delegate daily jobs to subordinates.
- Communicate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of assembly processes.
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to improve assembly processes and resolve problems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assembly activities.
- Ensure daily report are completed and submitted to the Manager.
- Monitor inventory levels of assembly parts and materials and order replacements as necessary.
- Train and mentor assembly workers.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of assembly workers.
- Ensure Health and Safety standards, Regulations and Procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Work hand in hand with the Safety coordinator to ensure all incidents on the Project are reported, remedial measures enforced and appropriate safety training conducted.
- Ensure employees wear correct PPE at all times and ensure they adhere to the policy.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum of a Diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair/Mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.
- Welding Certificates.
- Minimum experience of 5 years on heavy equipment machinery in a mining environment.
- Must have a background in mining equipment and machinery assembly.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Practicing Member of EIZ
