JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR - 1 POSITION
PURPOSE:
Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the Director is responsible for planning, organising, coordinating and directing the operations of the Centre for Information and Communications Technologies (CICT)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Controlling and coordinating all activities and operations of CICT;
- Initiating the formulation of policies and guidelines governing the operations of CICT;
- Ensuring implementation of policies and guidelines governing the operations of CICT;
- Advising Management on matters pertaining to all aspects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT);
- Ensuring the provision of effective, efficient and secure ICT services in the University;
- Developing and implementing ICT strategies to meet the institution's objectives;
- Overseeing the designing, development and implementation of ICT programmes and software to improve University operations;
- Keeping abreast with prevailing and new information and communication technologies and general business practices;
- Resolving operational challenges of the University through ICT innovations and solutions;
- Representing the Centre on various University Boards and Committees;
- Supervising subordinate staff and ensuring that performance appraisal is conducted for all staff in CICT; and
- Directing the preparation of quarterly and annual operational performance reports and submitting the same to the Vice-Chancellor on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent;
- Bachelors' degree in Computer Studies, Engineering or ICT related field;
- Master's degree in ICT or related filed would be an added advantage;
- Must have relevant certifications which include but not limited to ITIL, COBIT 2019 Prince2
- Must have knowledge of Network Management, eLearning Technologies, Software Development, DevOps, Data Mining or Science, Virtualization, Project Management, Systems Security, Microservice Architecture.
- At least five (5) years relevant work experience in an ICT Management capacity,
- Must have valid membership to the Computer Society of Zambia or other relevant professional associations focused on ICTs.
