Ciheb-Zambia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to coordinate the integration of COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunization at tertiary, first level and primary health care services. The successful candidate should have a background in health systems and a proven track record of successfully implementing and coordinating immunization health services at different levels of healthcare provision.

The Officer will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of the integration of the COVID-19 vaccination, ensuring that the services are efficient and effective, and meet the needs of the community and the project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for integrating COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunization at the various delivery points targeting high risk populations i.e people living with HIV, non-communicable diseases.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure seamless integration of COVID-19 vaccination into routine services.
  • Participate in training material development and coordination of the delivery of training to healthcare providers and other stakeholders on the integration of COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunization and primary healthcare services within the healthcare facilities.
  • Participate in the development of the information communication and education materials for healthcare providers and community members on COVID-19 vaccination and other vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Coordinate vaccine demand-creation activities including the distribution of social behavioral change (SBC) materials to healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to healthcare providers and staff on the administration of COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Coordinate the monitoring and reporting of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFIs).
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination integration strategies, identifying and addressing any issues or barriers.
  • Collaborate with relevant partners to stay informed on the latest developments and best practices related to COVID-19 vaccination integration and related immunization practices.
  • Ensure healthcare facility compliance with all relevant immunization and guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit reports on the progress and effectiveness of the integration activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, clinical sciences, public health, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health systems and integration of health services at different levels of healthcare provision
  • Strong understanding of COVID-19 vaccination and immunization programs
  • Experience with program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work well in a team and with a wide range of stakeholders
