EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

We are conducting a research study “Minimally Invasive Tissue Sampling to Evaluate HIV-associated Meningitis in Zambia” (MITZx). To support our research study, we are looking for a candidate to fill in the following position:

Laboratory Technician

This post is based in UTH. It requires high-level scientific thinking, attention to detail, organization, mature approach to self-supervised lab work, the ability to analyse data, and the ability to write scientific English.

Skills required include:

1. Handling and curating clinical research samples
2. DNA extraction
3. Quantitative and qualitative PCR
4. Coordination of study nurses and ancillary staff

Qualifications:

1. Biomedical or Biological Sciences Degree
2. Experience in laboratory and/or clinical research

There is an opportunity for professional and academic development based on performance.

Terms of Employment:

Six-month contract renewable based on performance
