Mofin Finance Limited seeks to employ for the following position:

Responsible for assisting and supporting the Collections Manager in overseeing the debt collections activities and the administration of the Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the system data is of standard quality and be a business link between Operations and sales departments.
  • Ensure effective maintenance and management of service level agreements with other departments.
  • Conduct call visits on both existing and prospective corporate clients and banks to enhance portfolio quality in line with the department’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage and provide guidance to the credit risk and debt collection team.
  • Provide weekly/monthly consolidated reports on the recoveries.
  • Pass on debtors at the appropriate time to legal collectors.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum of Diploma in Banking and Finance, Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Relevant work experience in working with either Microfinance institutions, Banking sector, or cash collection functions.
  • Sound knowledge of Microfinance, principles, and practices of banking.

Specialist knowledge and skills:

  • Analytical skills and a good eye for detail – Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Use of mathematical models, process maps, and planning tools.

2. Collections Officer x 1

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect DDAC mandate forms sent by branches for new loans for onward submission to collecting banks.
  • Make monthly scheduled DDAC requests on off taker confirmation regarding respective payroll processing dates.
  • Compilation of all receipts as confirmations from collecting banks.
  • Diligent reconciliation of outstanding receipt items.
  • Suggest whether the loan should be rescheduled or restructured following loan restructure and reschedule policy.
  • Identify root causes of defaults and make recommendations for process improvement as and when appropriate.
  • Maintain excellent records of contacts, transactions, efforts and progress made on the recovery

Academic & Professional Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in Banking and Finance or relevant field of study.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in the microlending sector in a similar position will be an added advantage

Specialist knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding of the relevant technology, procedures, practices, acts and regulations.
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and plan workload to meet objectives.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and with confidentiality.
