Job Title: Selling Driver

Reports to: Retail Manager

Job Purpose: To deliver and sell high-quality meats and greens off a mobile refrigerated truck, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive a refrigerated truck to deliver products to customers
• Identify customers at market stands, butcheries etc
• Identify cheap sources of meats, fish, greens etc
• May be required to sell off-the-truck as a mobile Store/butchery at designated locations
• May be required to deliver product as per order via mobile app/phone.
• Intertown purchase of fresh product
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck and products
• Manage stock levels, order, and receive deliveries as needed
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and deposit daily sales
• Build relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service and promoting products
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food handling and storage requirements
• Complete daily reports and keep track of sales and delivery information
• Keep vehicle in good condition, follow timely service mileage dates. Inform manager if vehicle defects are noted. take vehicle to the contract garage.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Valid driver’s license type B or better and a clean driving record.
• At least 2 years of driving experience is required.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as food handling and storage requirements
• Experience in a similar role will be added advantage
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays and rest on other days to make up for it
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Extra related qualifications will be an added advantage

Working Conditions:

• This is a full-time position that requires working in a mobile environment and being on the road for extended periods of time.
• The selling driver must be able to lift heavy boxes and maneuverer them in and out of the truck.
• The work schedule may vary, including weekends and holidays, and may involve working in different weather conditions.
