The Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) is a non-governmental and not for profit organisation and is affiliated to the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). PPAZ in partnership with Japanese Organisation for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) with funding from the Japanese Government through Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will be implanting a project to advocates for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) including Promotion of GBV prevention and care through community empowerment. The project is aimed at supplementing governments efforts in the provision of integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health services by working through the public facilities.

The PPAZ/JOICFP GBV Prevention and Care Project will be implemented in Kapiri Mposhi District and is seeking applications from qualified applicants to fill the following positions:

Assistant Project Officer-One (1) Positions

Location: Ndola

The Assistant Project Officer will report to the Project Officer. He/she will also ensure effective and efficient project implementation through capacity building of Community Volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning, implementation and coordination of project activities.
  • Conduct training of Community Volunteers and Service Provider.
  • Collaborate and network with stakeholders.
  • Conduct monitor and supervisory visits to project sites.
  • Provide technical support to community-based service providers.
  • Assist in writing project reports in accordance with Association and Donors’ reporting formats and schedules.
  • Assist in writing the project’s Annual Programme Budget.
  • Assist in the general management and administration aspects of project.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • BSC public health or any equivalent relevant social science;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights promotion;
  • Experience of teamwork with members in diverse and geographically separated locations.

Key Skills

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software packages, especially MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels;
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English;
  • Ability to understand support the organization and project core values.
