Job Title: Plumber

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

The Plumber will perform semi-skilled and skilled tasks including maintenance work, repairs, and construction duties; They shall further perform sub-journey level work in multiple trades including regulatory testing and preventative maintenance work and handles a variety of projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures for drainage and water systems.
• Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
• Install and maintain water supply systems
• Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring).
• Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems.
• Advise on the selection and procurement of materials required for a plumbing installation/repair.
• Troubleshoot plumbing fixtures to perform repair or replacement of damaged components.
• Handle appliances such as water heaters and dish washers to ensure they operate efficiently.
• Overseeing the fitting and repair of sanitation systems such as bathtubs, showers, toilets, and sinks.

Skills and Specifications:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and under minimal supervision
• Integrity, honesty and accountability in all dealings.

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Certificate from a trade school in Plumbing (Further Certification in Carpentry and Construction will be an added advantage).
• 3 years relevant experience
